India's national cyber security agency, CERT-In, has issued an advisory on a campaign it calls CRAFTY FALCON. The campaign uses AI-assisted methods to attack crypto firms and steal digital assets. Among its effects is the theft of crypto wallet keys.

A wallet key is the secret code that gives control over crypto held in a wallet. Whoever has the key can move the funds.

The advisory also says attackers returned to targets after the victims had only partly fixed their weaknesses. That means an incomplete repair can leave a firm open to a second attack.

Across Asia, crypto exchanges are tightening their security as hacks surge. The material does not give figures for the losses.

CERT-In is India's computer emergency response team.
