Method, provenance and limits
Colour is the move since the daily open at 00:00 UTC, not a rolling 24 hours: the exchange publishes an opening price and no price from 24 hours ago, so a rolling figure would have to be invented. Tile area is 24-hour turnover — price times volume, in dollars — which is comparable across assets in a way raw volume is not. It is not market capitalisation, which would need a second source.
Prices are Kraken's public market data, read by this site's server once a minute and served from there; your browser never talks to the exchange. If the exchange cannot be reached the last prices are shown with the time they were read, rather than an empty field.
One exchange is not the market: a cross-venue aggregate will differ from any single venue, typically by around a percent. Prices quoted inside articles are dated snapshots from the source each article names and are not updated here. Nothing on this page is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold anything.
